St. Michaels events and Tilghman Island events are unique to our incredible area. Seasonal festivals have become an uncompromising tradition. Our Waterfowl Festival is heaven for the outdoorsy types. Boat competitions, races and festive holiday events are what we live for. Join us and see why.

Hunting Seasons

Duck hunting season runs in all coastal waters from November 15 – January 13. Canada Goose Eastern zone season (encompassing Talbot County) is from September 1 – September 15. Rockfish spring trophy season is April 21 – May 15.

Festival of Trees

Saturday, December 15th

Featuring Santa & The Miles River Duo

We invite the community to place handmade ornaments on our trees to share a taste of Tilghman with all who visit. From 4 PM – 6 PM, join us for a free kids’ ornament and cookie and tree decorating party. Enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies for the kids. At 6 PM, we’ll light the trees. From 5 PM – 9 PM join us for dinner with holiday drink and meal specials, spiked egg not and roasted chestnuts.

Christmas in St. Michaels

Christmas in St. Michaels is held annually each December in historic St. Michaels, Maryland. For more than a quarter century, visitors and residents have celebrated the arrival of the Christmas season during this weekend. Proceeds from ticketed events and the sales of our very popular Collectors Ornaments have raised more than one million dollars to directly benefit local, non-profit organizations in our community.

Independence Day Celebration

Fireworks in St. Michaels Harbor Saturday, June 30, 2018! The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md. welcomes The Shades of Blue Orchestra for a live performance at its Saturday, June 30 Big Band Night. The St. Michaels fireworks are scheduled to launch after dusk. The orchestra is set to begin at 7:00 p.m, with the public invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an evening of music, dancing, and fireworks along the Miles River. Food, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the event.

Plein Air Easton Art Competition

July 14 – 21, 2019

Plein Air Easton

Plein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the United States.  Approximately 6,000-8,000 people participate in the week-long festival. Artists from all over the US and beyond apply to this competition and those who are selected paint throughout Talbot County during the festival week. The resulting original works of art are then on display, awards are given, and the  paintings are sold. Highlights include the Festival’s Quick Draw Competition and demonstrations, workshops, exhibits and lectures for all ages.

Tilghman Island Seafood Festival

July 20, 2019

Crab and Corn on the Cob

The festival will be held at the fire department and adjacent Kronsburg Park on Main Street, Tilghman Island. Food to be served includes steamed crabs, clams, steamed shrimp, barbecue chicken, hot dogs, corn on the cob, french fries, and more.  There will be plenty of ice-cold beer and sodas as well as children’s activities, games, nautical artisans, craft vendors and an indoor flea market. Live music will begin at noon.
